Our Story
Property Health Check was founded in 2001 by Peter Sweeney, Chartered Building Engineer, with the belief that every property buyer deserves access to expert, independent advice before making one of life’s biggest investments. The company’s mission was to specialise in Pre-Purchase Structural Surveys and provide its clients with exceptional service.
Through detailed inspections, clear reporting and practical recommendations, we help our clients make informed decisions with confidence and peace of mind. The company provides services in Dublin, Limerick, Cork, and most other counties in Ireland.
Today, our team of in-house Chartered Engineers, Registered Building Surveyors, and Building Consultants continues to uphold the same values on which the company was founded: professional expertise, integrity, independence, and exceptional customer service.
While Property Health Check has grown significantly over the years, our commitment remains unchanged, providing trusted advice and expert guidance to property buyers throughout Ireland.
Our Engineers
At Property Health Check, all of our building surveys are carried out exclusively by our in-house team of experienced professional Engineers. We do not outsource any part of our service — every survey is conducted by a member of our dedicated team. Each brings extensive knowledge in residential property and structural assessment. Our Engineers are committed to delivering an excellent service. We pride ourselves on building excellent relationships with our clients and strive to ensure our clients understand the findings of the survey.
We believe the strength of our service lies in our consistency, technical accuracy, and clear communication. Following each inspection, clients receive a detailed written report including photos within a few working days. Our engineers are available to ensure that all findings are understood and any concerns addressed.
At Property Health Check, we take pride in delivering reports that are not only comprehensive but also easy to interpret. Our aim is to ensure our clients are well-informed and confident in their property decisions.
Our Engineers are highly qualified and are members of the Chartered Association of Building Engineers (CABE) and the Society of Chartered Surveyors Ireland (SCSI), both of which are recognised professional bodies under the Building Control Act 2007.

Our highly trained and efficient Customer Care team will help you through the quotation process and schedule bookings. They will liaise with Solicitors and Estate Agents and organise access for the survey too!

Our Interests & Hobbies
Here is a snapshot of what we like to do in our spare time.
Having good fun together is top of the list. We are big dog lovers and fans of the outdoors. Some of us love to walk or cycle, whilst more like to sea swim even in the depths of winter.
We have some great GAA footballers and rugby enthusiasts amongst us. Some of the team like to keep it ZEN by practicing yoga and meditation, while others love a tough workout in the gym.
Though our interests may vary it’s great to be part of such a diverse and enthusiastic team.
